Discover it Miles allows cardholders to earn 1.5 miles for every amount spent on credit card purchases, including all purchases, not just travel-related purchases. Miles is worth 1 cent as a statement credit towards qualifying travel expenses. New cardholders will earn double miles in the first year which is great for big spenders.

This card does not have an annual fee or foreign transaction fee

Cardholders can redeem any amount for a statement credit or a direct deposit to your bank account towards travel purchases like commercial airline tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages if they’re purchased through the airline.

Cardholders will receive a credit for up to $30 for in-flight each year, made as a statement credit within 7 days of the purchase. Unused credits don’t roll over to the next year of which year is based on your anniversary date, not the calendar year.

Minor Restrictions

It is better to make your purchases or payments online or If you make the purchase using the virtual wallet, it may not qualify for rewards redemption.

There are no blackout dates and cardholders can use their Miles on any airline and any time. Though you can’t transfer Miles from another frequent flier program.

Discover it® Miles is a simple, flexible travel card that earns you a flat rewards rate on all purchases with no annual fee.

Pricing

This card does not have an annual fee. Purchases and balance transfers have an introductory promotional rate which is different for both types of transactions. Purchases have 0% APR for 12 months and 10.99 to 22.99% depending on your credit rating.

The Balance transfers are charged 10.99% APR and 10.99 to 22.99% which is 3% balance transfer fee

The cash advance is set at 24.99% and a fee of $10 or 5% cash advance fee, whichever is greater.

There are no charges of late fee on the first late payment using Discover it and there’s no penalty APR for late payments. You can be charged up to a $35 late fee if you’re late on a second payment.

You have until midnight on your due date to make your payment by phone or online. Returned payments are charged a fee of up to $35.

This is the only credit card issuer to offer Freeze it. Freeze it is a feature that allows you freeze your credit card and prevent new purchases, cash advances, or balance transfers on your account.

You can freeze or unfreeze the card from Discover’s website or the mobile app. The freeze it feature is not a security freeze for fraud prevention measures.
